Axel is a young axolotl who lives in a lake among his people. After a huge storm, the water level in the lake starts to drop. This could force the axolotls to metamorphose. But Axel is scared to death of change! So he sets off in search of Water to convince her to leave things as they are. On his journey, he meets several creatures who have already undergone a metamorphosis or transformation…
